Sundeep Jora’s Explosive Century Powers Nepal ‘A’ to 264 Against USA
KATHMANDU :In the sixth match of the ongoing ODI series, a sensational century from Sundeep Jora rescued Nepal ‘A’ from an early collapse, guiding the team to a competitive total of 264 runs against the USA.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Nepal ‘A’ struggled early on, eventually being bowled out for 264 in 49.5 overs.
Early Setbacks and Middle-Order Recovery
The opening pair failed to provide a solid foundation as both Trit Raj Das and Captain Anil Sah were dismissed cheaply for 9 runs each. The pressure mounted when Mayan Yadav, who looked promising with 24 runs, was caught short of his crease and run out.
The Jora Show
With wickets falling at the other end, Sundeep Jora took charge of the innings. Jora played a masterclass of patience and aggression, smashing 111 runs off 115 balls. His brilliant knock included 9 boundaries and 4 towering sixes, marking the standout performance of the day.
Jora found a reliable partner in Basir Ahmed, who contributed a vital 38 runs from the number six position. Late cameos from Pawan Sarraf (20) and Narayan Joshi (16) ensured Nepal ‘A’ posted a challenging total on the board.
US Bowling Attack
America’s Saurabh Netravalkar was the pick of the bowlers, delivering a lethal and disciplined spell. Netravalkar claimed 3 crucial wickets while conceding only 21 runs in his 8 overs. Jasdeep Singh supported well with 2 wickets, while Shubham Ranjane, Mohammad Mohsin, Milind Kumar, and Rushil Ugarkar chipped in with one wicket apiece.
The USA now requires 265 runs to clinch victory in this high-stakes encounter.
