ICC World Cup League 2: Nepal Sets Massive 318-Run Target for USA

Kathmandu: Nepal has set a monumental 318-run target for the United States in the final match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. After losing the toss and being sent in to bat first at the Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground, Nepal posted a formidable total of 317/8 in their allotted 50 overs.

The innings was powered by brilliant half-centuries from Ishan Pandey and Dipendra Singh Airee. Ishan top-scored with a vital 84 runs, marking his second One-Day International (ODI) half-century. Meanwhile, an aggressive Dipendra smashed 59 runs to register his ninth ODI half-century.

Earlier in the order, skipper Rohit Paudel contributed 46 runs, while opener Aasif Sheikh made 43 runs to lay a solid foundation. Quick scoring down the order from Dipendra and Kushal Bhurtel successfully pushed Nepal past the 300-run milestone.

Although Nepal has found great rhythm in the last two home series, their ODI World Cup Qualification campaign remains in a critical situation due to poor performances in earlier tournament legs. In the ongoing tri-series, Nepal has maintained a balanced record, defeating both Scotland and the USA in 1-1 encounters. Nepal enters today's game aiming for a consecutive victory against the United States.
